22 – 24 Sep 2021
We are hoping it will be 3rd time lucky for the Dundee Meeting and we can eventually hold this meeting in the beautiful city of Dundee as originally planned back in 2020. Sadly due to travel restrictions our invited guests, the Canadian Neurosurgical Society (CNSS), will not be joining us. We hope they will join us sometime in the future when travel restrictions are lifted.
We still have an exciting and varied programme planned…..
The Cerebrospinal Fluid Group (CSF), led by Mr Richard Edwards, will also be joining the meeting and will be hosting a sub-speciality group meeting on Tuesday afternoon at the conference venue. All delegates are welcome to attend. The Life-Long Learning Session on Wednesday morning will also be on CSF with homegrown and international speakers who are experts in this field.
The RCS Hunterian and Arris & Gale Lectures, which have been awarded to SBNS members Hani Marcus and Aminul Ahmed, will be presented during the meeting:
“The Application of Robotics to Keyhole Transcranial Endoscopic Microsurgery” & “Using Stem Cells for Traumatic Brain Injury” respectively.
Both are fascinating topics and should not be missed. There will also be several eponymous guest lectures, plenary talks by renowned speakers and Free Paper Sessions (oral and poster) from the abstracts submitted. We hope to include breakfast seminars on Thursday and Friday.
As well as an extensive academic programme we have some wonderful social events planned. The welcome reception on Wednesday will be at the Discovery Point Museum which centres around Captain Scott of the Antarctic’s Dundee built ship RRS Discovery and the more formal black tie (kilts desirable, but optional!) gala dinner will be held in the newly built Victoria and Albert Museum with its stunning architecture. For more details please click on the Social Events tab.
An extensive trade exhibition will be held throughout the meeting with neurosurgical companies exhibiting their latest products and innovations. Several neuro related charities will also have stands in the exhibition so please take the time to pay them a visit and show your support.
Our Hosts look forward to welcoming you to the beautiful City of Dundee and extending a warm Scottish welcome to you all.
