124th Meeting of the BNS

1 – 3 Mar 2023

The View in Lincoln’s Inn Fields

 

The next Annual Scientific Meeting of the British Neuropathological Society will be held from 1st – 3rd March 2023.  After two years of virtual meetings, the Society is delighted to invite you all to an in-person meeting at The View in Lincoln’s Inn Fields, in the heart of London.  Part of The Royal College of Surgeons of England, The View is a new purpose-build conference and event space with spectacular views of London.

Invited speakers include Prof Werner Stenzel, giving the Alfred Meyer Lecture on Wednesday and Prof Arie Perry, who will give the diagnostic update lecture on Thursday.
The theme of the symposium to take place on Wednesday the 1st of March is Skeletal muscle disorders – recent advances in pathology, genetics and therapy.

The registration fees include access to the conference sessions, poster sessions, conference materials, lunch and coffee breaks and the option to purchase a ticket for the Annual Dinner.

Please note only BNS members with up-to-date subscriptions are eligible to benefit from the member registration fees.

Trainees, Students, Nurses and Retired
To register as a trainee, student, nurse or retired, you must be able to provide proof of your status.  Please email proof of your status to bns2023@abbeyuk.com  We will accept a letter from your supervisor, university or employer as relevant.

Annual Dinner
The BNS Annual Dinner will take place in the evening of Thursday 2nd March at The View.  A champagne reception will be followed by a three course meal and wine, all served with fantastic views of London.

Places are limited and tickets must be purchased to attend.

The reduced price ticket is available to students, post-docs, trainees, nurses and retired doctors.

Payment of Registration Fees
Full payment must be made by credit/debit card at the time of registering.  Cards accepted are Visa, Visa Debit and MasterCard.  Please note the payment will show on your statement as “Abbey Tours”.

Access to the meeting will not be granted unless full payment has been received.  On receipt of your registration, you will receive a confirmation email with a receipt attached.

The View is centrally located at Lincoln’s Inn Fields, in the Holborn area of London, where there are many hotels.

Accommodation can be booked directly with the following hotels at rates negotiated for BNS 2023 delegates.  Please refer to the terms and conditions for your own booking with the hotel.  Any changes to your booking must be made with the hotel directly.

Booking deadline 31st January.  Cancellation deadline is 31st January (rooms can be cancelled free of charge until then).  Any non-arrival or cancellation after 28 days prior to arrival will carry 100% charge for the full stay.  Full payment will be required on arrival by cash or credit card.

Registration Cancellation

  • Notice of cancellation must be sent in writing to the conference secretariat at the following email address: bns2023@abbeyuk.com
  • Registration fees will be refunded less £50 administration charge for cancellations received on or before 1st February 2023.
  • There will be no refund for cancellations received on or after 2nd February 2023.
  • Substitutions are welcome.
  • No‐shows will not receive a refund in any circumstances.
  • If you test positive for COVID-19 and will not be out of your isolation period prior to your travel date/start of the conference, or if you are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms, you must not attend the conference.  In these circumstances, notice of cancellation must be sent by email to bns2023@abbeyuk.com prior to the conference and a refund will be granted, minus a £50 administration charge.
  • In the unlikely event that the conference cannot be held in whole or in part due to any event beyond the Organisers’ control or force majeure (such as riot, fire, explosion, accident, flood, earthquake, sabotage, strikes, acts of law or regulation by foreign Authorities, epidemic outbreak, sanitary emergency, etc) the Event Organisers cannot be held liable for any damage, cost, or loss incurred, such as transportation and accommodation costs, or any other direct or indirect loss or consequential damage.  Conference registrations fees will be refunded after deduction of expenses already incurred or alternative arrangements offered to delegates.  You are advised to have your own insurance to cover for travel disruption and other unforeseen circumstances.
  • Please allow up to 3 weeks to receive any refunds.

The safety and well-being of our attendees is our top priority.  The BNS 2023 Organisers and The View are committed to providing a safe environment for the event and will make every reasonable effort to do so.  However, as an attendee, you must fully understand and knowingly, voluntarily and irrevocably assume all risk related to entry into, and presence in, at and around the event venue(s), which may include an increased risk of exposure to communicable diseases.  As an attendee, you hereby accept personal responsibility for your voluntary participation in the event and assume all responsibility of claims and potential claims relating to any risks and hazards of attendance.
