125th Meeting of the British Neuropathological Society

The British Neuropathological Society is delighted to invite you to join the 125th British Neuropathological Society meeting.

The next Annual Scientific Meeting of the British Neuropathological Society will be held from 31st January – 2nd February 2024.  Following last year’s success, the meeting will be held at The View in Lincoln’s Inn Fields, in the heart of London.  Part of The Royal College of Surgeons of England, The View is a new purpose-built conference and event space with spectacular views of London.

Invited speakers will include Prof Anthony Schapira, giving the Dorothy Russell Memorial Lecture on Wednesday.

The theme of the symposium on Wednesday will be “Neurodegeneration: Alternative perspectives”.  Click here to view the symposium programme.

Abstracts are invited for consideration as orals, posters and posters with flash talk.  The submission deadline is Friday 17th November 2023 and notifications will be sent out in mid-December.

Registration

Registration Fees – please register by Monday 22nd January

Early bird fees (on or before 15th December):

Non-members                                                                                   £450.00

Post-docs, clinical trainees and nurses                                       £200.00

PhD students, undergraduates and retired                                £150.00

 

Late fees (from 16th December):

BNS members                                                                                   £350.00

Non-members                                                                                   £500.00

Post-docs, clinical trainees and nurses                                      £250.00

Annual BNS Dinner:

The registration fees include access to the conference sessions, poster sessions, lunch and coffee breaks and the option to purchase a ticket for the Annual Dinner.

Member Registration Fees
Please note only BNS members with up-to-date subscriptions are eligible to benefit from the member registration fees.

Trainees, Students, Nurses and Retired
To register as a trainee, student, nurse or retired, you must be able to provide proof of your status.  Please email proof of your status to bns2024@abbeyuk.com by 31st December 2023 (or as soon as possible if you register in January).  We will accept a letter from your supervisor, university or employer as relevant.

Annual Dinner
The BNS Annual Dinner will take place in the evening of Thursday 1st February at The View.  A champagne reception will be followed by a three course meal and wine, all served with fantastic views of the London skyline at night.

Places are limited and tickets must be purchased to attend.

Subsidised tickets are available to PhD students and undergraduates.

Payment of Registration Fees
Full payment must be made by credit/debit card at the time of registering.  Cards accepted are Visa, Visa Debit and MasterCard.  Please note the payment will show on your statement as “Abbey Tours”.

Access to the meeting will not be granted unless full payment has been received.  On receipt of your registration, you will receive a confirmation email with a receipt attached.

Cancellation
Registration Cancellation:

  • Notice of cancellation must be sent in writing to the conference secretariat at the following email address: bns2024@abbeyuk.com
  • Registration fees will be refunded less £50 administration charge for cancellations received on or before 31st December 2023.
  • There will be no refund for cancellations received on or after 1st January 2024.
  • Substitutions are welcome.
  • No‐shows will not receive a refund in any circumstances.
  • If you test positive for COVID-19 and will not be out of your isolation period prior to your travel date/start of the conference, or if you are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms, you must not attend the conference.
  • In the unlikely event that the conference cannot be held in whole or in part due to any event beyond the Organisers’ control or force majeure (such as riot, fire, explosion, accident, flood, earthquake, sabotage, strikes, acts of law or regulation by foreign Authorities, epidemic outbreak, sanitary emergency, etc) the Event Organisers cannot be held liable for any damage, cost, or loss incurred, such as transportation and accommodation costs, or any other direct or indirect loss or consequential damage.  Conference registrations fees will be refunded after deduction of expenses already incurred or alternative arrangements offered to delegates.  You are advised to have your own insurance to cover for travel disruption and other unforeseen circumstances.
  • Please allow up to 3 weeks to receive any refunds.

Accommodation Cancellation:

The safety and well-being of our attendees is our top priority.  The BNS 2024 Organisers and The View are committed to providing a safe environment for the event and will make every reasonable effort to do so.  However, as an attendee, you must fully understand and knowingly, voluntarily and irrevocably assume all risk related to entry into, and presence in, at and around the event venue(s), which may include an increased risk of exposure to communicable diseases.  As an attendee, you hereby accept personal responsibility for your voluntary participation in the event and assume all responsibility of claims and potential claims relating to any risks and hazards of attendance.

It is recommended that you arrange your own travel insurance.
